One of the reasons we become so overwhelmed with fashion is that creating an outfit can be confusing and overwhelming. We can all agree that once getting dressed in the morning becomes a source of distress, effort or anxiety, we opt out, retreat into our comfort zones and wear the same old stuff. That’s how I feel about wearing a dress and sneakers, Dreakers, if you will. It feels like a look that can go wrong easily, but then I see it on the streets of New York and think, “Yes! That’s how I want to dress!” So, I sat down and figured out a few ways to wear the dress and sneakers look to help everyone get a grasp on the look of the summer, which happens to be super-comfy. Fashion intuition may tell you to pair a long, floral dress with a sandal or espadrille but we’re seeing more an more sneakers with the look, which makes it less precious, garden party and more Haight-Ashbury, “Wear Flowers in Your Hair.” It connects the political activism of 1967 to today’s generation hell-bent on saving the planet, changing the world and standing up for what’s right.

BUSINESS IN THE FRONT, PARTY IN THE BACK

The workplace is littered with the ghosts of co-workers past who just didn’t *get* business casual as a dress code. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, Barb, but while a Myrtle Beach hoodie and Lularoe leggings are fine for a trip to Wegman’s, the weekly status meeting requires a little more effort. But, love the scrunchie - that you can keep.
