We all have rituals. The way we take our coffee each morning is a ritual. Doing your makeup is a ritual. Watching your nightly episode (or six) of your favorite Netflix series is a ritual (Hello – The Bodyguard!)

Rituals are an ancient practice and a modern way of living. I love to integrate a little magic into my everyday life. It grounds me and makes things feel more intentional. With this upcoming New Moon, let’s harness that lunar energy to elevate your beauty routine.

The New Moon is known for being a time to set intentions, start new things and rejuvenate. We can do that with our beauty and wellness regimen, too. 

So, let’s start with a reset. The day leading up to the New Moon should be spent detoxing. However you want to do that is up to you. You can eliminate caffeine, drink some celery juice, or stay away from processed food. Whatever makes you feel good.

This is also a really great day to get a haircut. The waxing moon phases that follow the New Moon are known to power growth, so your hair will come back longer and healthier.

This is also a great time to implement something new to your routine that you would like to start doing consistently. Trying to exfoliate more? Want to take up dermarolling? This is the night to start! 

End your night by writing in your moon journal and have a peaceful sleep. You just created some serious magic. Each lunar phase is composed of energetic elements that you can use to power your own self-care. You just have to trust the process.
